yeah of course that making crackme's in vb in order to learn how to defeat and reverse their protections is a good idea.
But what i -=feel=- is that most of the 'new crackers/coders/whatever' take this overbloated-point-and-click-and-program kinda langs cos they are MUCH more easy than a C/asm lang.
I was impressed once when a person i used to work with, show me how to make a mpeg player in TWO minutes using delphi...geee, visual stuff.
And about learning vb for a job, of course it must be accepted unless u dont care about loosing it and looking for another one.

ill take a look at python. :)
